As an English teacher and a Christian serving at IED Nuestra Señora del Rosario, a public school in Barranquilla, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Live Oaks Ministries for the donation of school kits to our students.

Our class is made up of a group of ladies ranging in age from mid-seventies to late eighties. Most are mother, grandmother, and even great grandmothers who all share the love for Jesus Christ and for helping others in need.

When we were told about this school in Colombia and the needs they have to provide an education and a chance at a better life in this mixed-up world, our hearts were opened to want to help.

​

None of us in the Shepherdess Class come from rich backgrounds, and we have all had some difficult struggles in our life. But because of this, it has triggered our compassion to want to help others, especially children, to have a better life.

​

In II Corinthians, Chapter 8, the Apostle Paul talks about the believers from the churches he visited on his mission trip wanting to send money to the Jerusalem church.  These were poor people, yet they gave what they could because they "wanted" to help, out of dedication to Jesus Christ, love for fellow believers and the joy of helping others in need.  This is the exact reason our class feels the need to help further the Live Oaks mission.
